Affiliate Disclosure

You deserve to know how The Hypertrophy Guide may earn money—and how we protect the independence of our conclusions and product recommendations.

Direct answer
THG may earn a commission—but it does not change our conclusions.

Some THG articles may contain affiliate links. If you purchase through one of these links, THG may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. This does not influence our evidence-based conclusions, product scores, rankings, or recommendations.

How it works

What Is an Affiliate Link?

An affiliate link is a trackable link to a retailer or another third-party website. If you follow that link and complete a qualifying purchase, the retailer may pay THG a commission.

Using one of these links does not add a separate fee charged by THG. Product prices, delivery terms, returns, and availability are set by the retailer and may change. You are always free to visit a retailer directly instead.

Our standard

Editorial Independence Comes First

A commercial relationship does not determine what THG concludes. Our aim is to make recommendations based on the available evidence and their relevance to the reader—not on which company offers the highest commission.

  • Brands cannot buy a positive conclusion, product score, ranking, or award.
  • Commission rates do not determine whether a product is included or where it is placed.
  • Relevant limitations, drawbacks, uncertainty, and conflicts in the evidence should be reported.
  • Scientific claims are not accepted solely because they appear in manufacturer marketing.
  • If no product deserves a recommendation, we would rather say so than force a commercial choice.

Evaluation framework

How Products May Be Evaluated

The factors that matter depend on the product category, but may include the evidence for the ingredients and doses, label transparency, quality controls or credible third-party testing, practical usability, price per meaningful serving, and the terms offered to the customer.

Evidence

Evidence Before Marketing

Claims are assessed against relevant research and established principles rather than repeated from advertising copy.

Experience

Testing Is Labelled Honestly

THG will only describe a product as personally tested or used when that is actually the case.

Value

Price Needs Context

A lower price is not automatically better if the formulation, dose, quality, or purchasing terms are meaningfully different.

Transparency

Commercial Ties Are Disclosed

Relevant affiliate, sponsorship, or free-product relationships will be identified where they may affect how readers interpret the content.

Other relationships

Free Products and Sponsorships

If THG receives a product without charge, that relationship will be disclosed. Receiving a product does not guarantee coverage or a positive assessment.

If content is paid for or sponsored, it will be clearly labelled as sponsored content. An ordinary affiliate relationship is not presented as a sponsorship.

Before purchasing

Retailers, Prices, and External Websites

THG is not the seller of products reached through external links. Purchases are made from and governed by the chosen retailer, including its current price, stock status, delivery, return, privacy, and customer-service terms. Please verify those details on the retailer’s website before purchasing.

Some affiliate programs require additional program-specific wording. Where required, THG will add that wording to the relevant page or disclosure.
